On behalf of the joint committee between Rotary District 5360 and Community Futures we are seeking:
  • Camper sponsorships at $1,000 per camper.  Sponsorships are eligible for District Grant money.
  • A handful of Rotary volunteers willing to help lead RAYEC – Rotary Alberta Youth Entrepreneurship Camp.  No specific experience necessary and a terrific experience.

2019 was the 23rd consecutive annual summer camp; a week-long event in the south part of Cypress Hills.  The camp was created by Community Futures, has been supported by rural Rotary clubs for many years and is now formally endorsed and sponsored by District 5360.  We are working to engage more “city” clubs.

60-66 students age 13-15 and 10-11 youth leaders age 17-19 spend a week as entrepreneurs.  Build 10-11 companies, produce written business plans, borrow real money, produce, sell and wind-down.  Along with a wide array of recreational and other traditional “camp” activities.  There is a ready supply of students looking to attend as we continue to spread the word.

RAYEC campers have gone on to be RYLA, RYPEN and YEX participants.  RAYEC campers have joined Rotaract and Rotary.  RAYEC campers have created real companies and hire Albertans.  They are our future.
