On October 19, Bill Skinner from the Rotary Club of Calgary Heritage Park gave a presentation on "Climate Change from a Rotarian's Perspective". The receding Columbia icefield and the impact of the pine beetle on Alberta's pine forests are both examples of climate change. Bill gave an example applying the four way test to climate change and showed the warming trend of Alberta temperatures over the last 120 years. What was really interesting was Bill's calculation of his ecological footprint which showing he has 6.6 times the world's average ecological footprint. This definitely makes us think and Bill ended his presentation with a quote from a famous frog who said "It isn't easy being green!"
