The new school year has started and the Calgary East Rotary Club continued the tradition of cooking and serving pancake breakfasts at Calgary Elementary Schools. On September 15, we assembled our crew of 9 Rotarians and 2 volunteers at the Rundle Elementary School to feed 500 students. The weather co-operated nicely and everyone enjoyed the breakfast. On September 28, we were at the Colonel J Fred Scott Elementary school to feed another 500 students. We were short a few volunteers but our group of 6 Rotarians and 2 volunteers met the challenge and completed another successful pancake breakfast. The weather was a little cool but the school set up tables in the gym and the students were enjoyed their breakfast in comfort. Our BBQ trailer is done for another season and goes into storage until the spring.
